Rules Summary

Roll dice up to three times to attack rivals, heal, collect energy, and score points. Stay in or take over Tokyo for bonus points, buy power cards for special abilities, and win by reaching the point target or knocking everyone else out.

How to Play

Objective Be the first monster to reach the required victory point total or be the last monster still alive. Setup Give each player a monster board and set their health and victory points to starting values according to the edition being played. Shuffle the power cards into a deck and reveal the market. Place energy cubes and dice within reach. Randomly choose a starting player. Turn Structure Roll the six dice up to three times, keeping or rerolling any dice each roll. Resolve dice results: claws deal damage, hearts heal if allowed, energy gains cubes, and number sets score victory points. If Tokyo is empty, the active monster may enter Tokyo; if occupied, attacks from outside damage the monster in Tokyo. Monsters in Tokyo may choose to yield after taking damage from another monster, allowing the attacker to move into Tokyo. Spend energy to buy power cards from the market and refill the market if needed. Resolve any card effects and check for victory or elimination. End of Game The game ends immediately when a player reaches the victory point target or when only one monster remains alive. Notes A monster in Tokyo usually cannot heal with hearts, but gains victory points for entering and starting turns there. Exact starting values and some card details may vary slightly by edition.
